The Boots in Bio program is designed to take an inexperienced member and teach them the necessary skill set, knowledge, and connections needed to start a career in the biotech/pharma industry. Each event is catered towards a specific benchmark in the life cycle of job hunting. Several volunteers and experienced industry leaders come together to support each transitioning service member and veteran throughout the program.

Boots in Bio will provide everything you need to complete our program in six (6) weeks.

Meet Boots in Bio

Come and meet the team behind the scenes. Learn who we are and why want to help.

Intro to Biotech/Pharma Industry

Boots in Bio experts will introduce cohort members to the biotech/pharma as a whole, diving into it’s purpose, funding, anticipated growth. Additionally, we will cover evolving trends in how the industry is staffing it’s growing need for support (both personnel and programs), and how that translates into a rich job market for transitioning service members and veterans looking for their post-military career.

Start off with a presentation on correct resume writing followed by small group work on your resumes with a designated “group leader”. We will then move into a presentation on proper interview techniques followed by a break out session of small group interviews with your “group leader”.

Finding a Job/Learning to Network

In this session our team will go over the various avenues and networking organizations in the area (weeding out good vs. bad), levels of membership and which organizations are the best value.

Job Fair

This will be the opportunity for our cohort members to show what they’ve learned in front of multiple hiring managers from the biotech/pharma industry in an attempt to get an interview or job.

This will be the final congratulations and send-off for our cohort members.
